3.T.M. provides aid to Haiti
Think on These Things Ministries (3.T.M.), based in Atlanta, Ga., was among the many groups that moved quickly to provide aid to Haiti on the eve of the January 12 earthquake. Executive director Shawn Wray mobilized a team of workers to take emergency food and medical supplies to hospitals in Haiti.
"When we got to Haiti’s capital, where the quake had struck hardest, I was moved by the scene," says Wray. "The air was rank with the smell of death. Bodies of men, women, and children lay in the streets. I thought I was in a war zone."
Wray's team visited several hospitals, distributing basic provisions and medical supplies. They also visited an Adventist church in Port-au-Prince, where the power had been knocked out in most areas. They found the pastor and ten of his members "singing, praying, and giving glory to God in the darkness." The team distributed food to the church members and local community and promised to return with more.
