Part of the 2008 ASI Convention offering went to support two projects being undertaken by Riverside Farm Institute and one of its satellite entities, Luyando Farm Institute, both in Zambia.
Riverside Farm is building a new guest chalet for their lifestyle center, which draws middle and upper class people from all over Zambia. In the past Riverside Farm has been unable to accommodate everyone wishing to participate in the lifestyle program.
To date, all the cement blocks for the chalet have been made and the steel and cement for the footings are purchased and ready for construction. Wood planks have also been purchased to build the chalet’s windows, doors and furniture.
Luyando Farm is building facilities for their vocational training school, which offers instruction in sewing and carpentry to women and men, respectively. The sewing classroom (pictured) is fully completed and equipped with desks and sewing machines. Classes will begin in August.
Construction is now ready to begin on the carpentry classroom. Cement blocks are being made, ground prepared for the foundation and tool sets for the classroom have been purchased.
When completed, these projects will be major assets to Riverside and Luyando Farms. Increased guest housing will allow Riverside Farm to expand their lifestyle program and generate self-supporting income. And the new sewing and carpentry classrooms will enable Luyando Farm to fully establish their vocational training ministry.
Thank you to everyone who supported these projects through the 2008 ASI Convention offering.
